Local Outreach
Plus Power has been developing Kapolei Energy Storage II with a focus on meeting the needs of the Hawaiian Electric grid and the customers it serves. We are committed to working with the Kapolei community and keeping its residents involved throughout the development process.
Community Benefits
The Kapolei Energy Storage II facility will be a good neighbor and a valuable asset to the surrounding community for decades to come. The project will provide necessary capacity to the region with no air polluting emissions. As a static facility with insignificant traffic and minimal municipal services, the KES II facility will have little impact on neighbors. Significant project benefits to the community include:
Increased local energy reliability and resilience
Increased access to low-cost renewable energy
High-paying local construction jobs
Expanded local tax base with no added demand on community service
